This week, while families around the country filed their taxes, House Republicans were hard at work, passing bills to stop IRS abuse, protect American taxpayers, and empower family-businesses.

It’s Tax Week, in 5 videos:

1. On Wednesday, the House unanimously passed seven bills, including the Taxpayer Bill of Rights, aimed at  protecting hardworking Americans from IRS abuse. Here’s Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL), talking about the need for the IRS to do more with less:

2. Later on Wednesday, the House passed the Contracting and Tax Accountability Act of 2015, sponsored by House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT). The bill prohibits federal agencies from awarding contracts or grants to contractors that have seriously delinquent tax debt. Here’s Mr. Chaffetz speaking in support of the bill:

3. On Thursday, the House passed two bills to help American taxpayers and family businesses. The State and Local Sales Tax Deduction Fairness Act of 2015 makes permanent an itemized deduction for state and local general sales taxes. And the Death Tax Repeal Act of 2015 repeals the “Estate Tax,” which Rep. Kevin Brady (R-TX) calls “an attack on the American Dream.” Here’s Mr. Brady from the House floor:

4. The Estate Tax unfairly punishes  farmers, ranchers, and family-owned businesses. Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD) and her family experienced this burden firsthand when her father died tragically in an accident on their family farm. She told her story and talked about the need to repeal the Estate Tax on Fox News’ On The Record:

5. ‘Congress in the Classroom’ — Rep. John Carter (R-TX) held a Google Hangout with students in the East View High School AP Government class. House Republicans continue to utilize the latest digital tools to connect with those they represent.

BONUS: Google Hangout with Rep. Ryan Zinke (R-MT) — a busy week deserves a bonus video. Rep. Zinke engaged over video with five Montanans, updating them on House GOP accomplishments through the first 100 days of the 113th Congress.
